Alex Eischeid

I’m a North Carolina–based UI/UX designer and musician focused on accessibility, information science, and creating meaningful digital experiences.

About Me

As a Master's student in Information Science at UNC-Chapel Hill, and during my time earning my Bachelor's at UNC, I have undertaken numerous projects that showcase my passion, creativity, and ability to translate users’ needs into practical solutions.

I independently conceived, developed, marketed, and released Daysy, a native iOS app available on the Apple App Store since March 2024. As a Leadership Team member of App Team Carolina, I designed the Rover Rideshare app and fully redesigned the Chapel Hill Transit app. I also spearheaded new designs for Bubbly (currently on the App Store) and the Carolina Cupboard app.

As Team Lead, I taught aspiring UI/UX Designers solution-focused design principles. Throughout my research and design journey, I taught myself how to use Figma for creating UI designs, obtained a Google UX Certificate to deepen my understanding of UX, built custom websites to promote applications, and learned Apple’s Swift programming language to develop native iOS applications.

I envision a career at the intersection of software design, accessibility, and emerging technologies, with the goal of leading innovative projects that solve real-world challenges and advance information systems to improve people’s quality of life.

As a musician, I have performed across the nation, earning recognition in competitions with award-winning ensembles such as the Triangle Youth Watson Brass Band and the Triangle Youth Jazz Ensemble, including a performance at Lincoln Center, NYC.

I’ve had the privilege of working with many talented artists and musicians, and I served as Lead Trumpet in the UNC Jazz Band for three years. Music continues to be a central part of my life, and I am grateful for every opportunity to perform and collaborate.
